Summer Camp for ALL Abilities
An inclusive summer day camp for children with special needs, their siblings, and
their typically developing peers
a UNIQUE CAMP EXPERIENCE
All daily lessons and activities are specifically designed for children with developmental, physical or emotional challenges, AND for typically developing children. No experience with horses is necessary to fully enjoy our summer camp. Over the 11 week-long sessions, our Summer Camp offers children 4 years and older an excellent introduction to horses and riding in a safe and nurturing environment. We promote independence, self-confidence, team building and socialization.
We can accommodate a maximum of 6-8 campers per week. Camp operates Monday-Friday beginning in June and finishing in late August. The day starts at 8:30AM and ends at 12:30PM. No lunch - snack only. The week of July 4th will be a short week and the week of August 24 will be a 4-day week.
*For more detailed information please review our Eligibility Guidelines and the Atlantoaxial Instability Statement
LEARNING MADE FUN
Your child will learn and practice basic riding skills, safety awareness around horses, and how to groom and take care of horses. Arts and crafts, games, and activities are designed to teach the campers about horse etiquette and safety, horse breeds, colors, markings and conformation all while keeping them active and happy throughout their day at camp.
A SAFE ENVIRONMENT
Skilled Staff and Volunteers: Daily activities are supervised by the Camp Director, PATH Intl. Certified Riding Instructors and Camp Activities Specialists. The Camp Director and PATH Intl. Certified Instructors are CPR and First Aid Certified. In addition, specially trained Mane Stream volunteers assist with activities throughout the day.
adult weeks (week 1, 7 & week 11)
We are now offering THREE separate weeks of camp for adults! Group size is kept small (6-8 riders) with a variety of activities geared toward the riders’ ages and abilities. In addition to staff, assistance is provided by adult volunteers only. See below for specific weeks.
